  • Peafowl, ducks, flowers and rocks, 1800–1880 Nagasaki school, Japan Paintings of birds and flowers enjoy a long tradition in Japanese art. This hanging scroll reflects the realism of the Nagasaki school, an Edo period school or style of painting. While the depiction of each avian creature here is true to life, the splendid display of the colorful plumage of the birds gathered here—posed against a sumptuous background of an ancient tree and dainty blossoms—is entirely from the artist’s imagination and perfectly suited for this 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle.

Pomegranate is proud to produce jigsaw puzzles with thoughtfully conceived, engagingly intricate, and aesthetically appealing images on a solid interlocking format. The sturdy construction combined with the wide image selection and vibrant color reproduction will delight everyone from experts to first-time puzzlers.

      Birds & FLowers

This is a beautiful puzzle with many great attributes - high quality construction with excellent fit and delightful visual composition which both challenges and facilitates assembly. If you favor strong, bold, colors, this may not be for you, as the image is does faithfully duplicate the subtle blend of highlights of colors and subtle gold I have seen in many Japanese scrolls.
