Wang Church, Poland - 1000pc Jigsaw Puzzle by Castorland

Serious Item Code: 13743 | Mfr. Code: C-1021-12
Originally this stave church was located in Vang, Norway and was intended to be torn down. An artist, Johan Christian Dahl, saw the church and felt it was a cultural monument that should be preserved. With the help of the vicar of Vang, and eventually King Frederick William IV of Prussia, he bought the building and rescued it from demolition.

An architect, Franz Wilhelm Schiertz, took upon the project of relocating the church despite a complete lack of precedent. Though much of the original materials eventually had to be discarded, his drawings and plans had been so meticulous that historians are able to understand exactly what the original looked like; the rebuilt version bears a striking likeness, albeit with some moderate cultural and artistic adjustments.
It now sits in the snowy Karkonosze mountains of Poland, and attracts almost a quarter million visitors a year.

Castorland is based out of Poland, and exports their puzzles to more than 40 countries around the world. They have over two decades of experience and as a result have built a brand that continues to live up to a high standard of aesthetics and image quality across their widely varied selection of themes.
