Kahn was a maverick in how he filled the canvas. (He once said, “I enjoy making something austere and dramatic out of the color pink.”) His unique approach of employing spontaneity while creating representational scenes produced a body of work that is as pleasurable as it is deeply moving. Among his many accolades are a Fulbright Scholarship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and US State Department International Medal of Art. His work is regularly exhibited at galleries and museums across North America and can be found in the collections of many leading institutions.
