  • Van Gogh’s Bedroom at Arles, 1889 Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) invested his paintings with fearless color and singular eloquence. His portraits, landscapes, interiors, and still lifes transform the familiar into the exceptional, each one a masterful expression of the painter’s passion. This painting of his bedroom at Arles, France, is a prime example of his ability to infuse order scenes with populated with ordinary objects into extraordinary, emotional experiences. Express your gratitude to the great painter’s work by examining each brushstroke in this 1,000-piece puzzle.

Vincent van Gogh’s ten-year painting career yielded more than 2,000 paintings and drawings but little recognition from the art world. Lamenting this indifference, he wrote to his brother Theo, “One may have a blazing hearth in one’s soul, and yet no one ever comes to sit by it.” Van Gogh (Dutch, 1853–1890) never did achieve the recognition he craved during his short, troubled lifetime. He sold few paintings but was known to have traded his artwork with other artists or for art supplies, food, and lodging. During periods of intense productivity, he painted at a feverish rate, sometimes a painting a day. His passionate and vividly colorful works eventually won over audiences and have helped make him one of the world’s most beloved artists.

Pomegranate is proud to produce jigsaw puzzles with thoughtfully conceived, engagingly intricate, and aesthetically appealing images on a solid interlocking format. The sturdy construction combined with the wide image selection and vibrant color reproduction will delight everyone from experts to first-time puzzlers.

Great puzzle. Nice size pieces and thick. Good quality. I’m spoiled b/c I miss the box stand the white mountain puzzles come with. I just reused one from another puzzle.
